Bro. Jay was born in a little town in Southwest Arkansas called Smackover. Jay was raised in a Christian home where he watched his father sing tenor for a full-time southern gospel quartet for several years. This soon became a life-long dream of Jay's. He acheived that goal in 1994 when he accepted the tenor position with the Gold City Quartet in Gadsden, Alabama. Jay remained with the group for a little longer than ten years and received several awards for his singing. In August, 2004, Jay felt it was time to spend more time with the family that God had so richly blessed him with and less time on the road. He and his wife, Keri, have two children, Kaylyn and Lj. Jay was called to Hill Crest in 2008 as Minister of Music. |
